Affording Dental Implants
by Diane Caviness
Affording Dental Implants - I am having a terrible time with dentures. I now have 4 upper mini-implants with the "snap-on denture, but for some reason my gums just won't take them.
I couldn't stand dentures with a palate because of dry mouth, it felt like I had a vacumn cleaner attached to my mouth. So I thought I would get rid of the palate and get rid of the problem. But the front of my gums, especially between the two front implants, feels like they are being rubbed raw.
My dentist has been so kind and patient and has adjusted, relined, and we've now even taken the housing out of the denture and put a soft reline in. I CAN'T STAND them! My life is a living hell; a nightmare I can't wake up from. The only other option I have is a fixed bridge and who knows if that will work or not. I've already spent around $9000 altogether, starting with the immediate dentures, the new pair that they said would fix all my problems, and then the mini implants.
I live in southwest VA and the going rate for an All on 4 fixed hybrid bridge is $20,000. I do not have that kind of money. I wish someone would start a charity for poor people with dental problems.
