Born without two of his teeth

by Doyle Melton

My 14 teen year old grandson was born without two of his teeth - (G & D)- one's next to the front upper teeth. He has been in braces for two years and his dentist used a method to make space for implants for the missing teeth.

Now out of braces, and wearing a retainer with two teeth attached - his dentist is ready to do a "bone graft" and do the implants. I question this as I thought the bone should be fully developed prior to getting implants - however dentist told me he is well developed and he is ready for the procedure ? Need some more input from others on my thoughts.

Wait till age 17
by: Dr Farhan Durrani

please wait till age 17 for the bone to mature,no implant should be put before that age.

Also- did your dentist do a CT evaluation?
I think you should get a second opinion too!
