I'm surprised, even shocked to discover no coverage of CBCT or 3D cone beam X-rays on this web-site, for implant planning, precision placement and ultimate patient safety.

Will you be adding coverage since this topic has grown in importance and dentists are beginning to add CBCT scanners like the iCat to their practices?

CBCT beam (Cone Beam Computed Tomography) is a technology that has been in the United States since 2001. CBCT advantages over regular CT scanning are numerous, one of them is that the patient is less subject to radiation since there aren't any redundant overlapping slices.

CBCT uses a focused beam with a larger sensor that covers axial slices of the face and which reproduces the patients anatomy very accurately, making the doctor's diagnostic superior.

When it comes down to placing implants CBCT is a powerful tool, since it enables the doctor to measure the dimensions and quality of the bone making the implant placing procedure more safe and efficient.

Lastly, CBCT also improves Doctor to patient communication and the ability for the patient to understand the implant placing
