Dental implant course - learn basic dental implant placement and restoration
The basic dental implant training program is designed for dentists of all specialties who have limited or no experience with dental implants. Attendees will learn the theoretical basics and practical procedures for simple, single implant placement and restoration. Hands-on exercises will be performed on specially designed type-2-bone-density maxillary model, based on real life patient casts and radiographic studies.
Implant course objectives:
Upon successful completion of the basic dental implant placement and restoration course participants will be able to:
• Determine clinical scenarios and appropriate candidates for single dental implant treatment.
• Develop a dental implant treatment plan.
• Prepare the surgical site for the placement of a single dental implant.
• Select and place the optimal dental implant type for the surgical site
• Select the correct prosthetic components for dental implant restoration.
• Take impersions for single-tooth prostheses.
• Design the dental implant retained cemented prostheses.

Day 1 : Dental implant surgery and restoration - Lectures :
• Intro to dental implants and definitions.
• Anatomy of dental implants.
• Patient and case evaluation.
• Anatomic considerations.
• Study guides.
• Surgical guides.
• Bone physiology.
• Osseointegration.
• Protocol on placement of implants.
• Hands on model activities including: Osteotomy preparation, Implant placement.
• Exercise evaluation and conclusions.
Day 2: Lectures, Demonstrations, and hands-on workshops
• Treatment planning.
• Protocol on placement of dental implants.
• Protocol on dental implant impressions.
• Hands-on model activities including : Extracting a dental implant, Osteotomy preparation, Dental implant placement and Occlusal considerations.
• Hands-on designing the cemented prostheses: Impression techniques and abutment types and selection.
• Exercise evaluation and conclusions.
