Hi. I had an implant put in 3 years ago to replace a missing canine. Now I am facing some corrective jaw surgery, and need to have braces put on 6 month prior to the procedure.
How do braces work on implants? Does the crown get shifted along with the rest of the natural teeth? Or will it stay fixed? Will wearing braces affect the structural integrity of my implant and/or the crown?
Why would my gums still be bleeding 24 hours after an implant abutment was put in? Is it normal to have the gum grow right over and around the new metal post that was put in to hold the spot open until the lab has built the crown to fit over top of it?
I've had *one* meal since then and that was over-boiled spaghetti. I don't smoke. This is very gross. Yes, I know to rinse w/warm salt water. Its tooth (or gap) #30.
