Dental implant rejected - gum does not close

Dental implant rejected - gum does not close:

My brother, who lives in Brussels, got a dental implant that his gum and jaw rejected. So the implant was taken out and now the gum does not close. His dentist is saying that he has to graft gum from another part of his mouth to that area.

Does that sound right? Otherwise, what is the solution? Thank you.

Bone does not grow back easily, as a matter of fact, it is not going to grow back without stimulating it, i.e adding some type of grafting material to that site.

There are several options, either using synthetic bone bovine or porcine, or also using your own bone from somewhere else in his body (usually taken from the hip bone)
