Implant length is calculated in milimeters from the top of the collar to the apex of the implant. Typical lengths are 8mm, 10mm, 11.5mm, 13mm, and 16mm. Implant width is measured by the diameter of the platform, also in milimeters. Typical platforms are 3.75mm, 4.2mm, 5mm, and 6mm.

Implant length & diameter is measuring with CONE BEAM CT or Spiral scan software from the top of the collar to the apex of the implant for length and labial to lingual for diameter . that is depending how much bone in quantity and what kind of bone in quality (d1,d2,d3,d4 ?) and your implant system .
