Full Upper Overdenture on Implants versus Permanent Denture on Implants

Three years ago I had a sinus lift with bone grafting on the upper jaw with my own bone taken from the hip followed by 8 implants 6 months later, then 3 months after that fitted with a full upper removable denture with clips.

I am extremely happy with the results and highly recommend this procedure for regular denture wearers who are having problems with ill-fitting dentures.

My question is - is it ok to leave the denture in overnight rather than remove it every night without it resulting in potential deterioration in the implants/denture over time? Only there are the permanent dentures over implants version where this is never removed, so what would the difference be in wearing permanent or removeable dentures overnight?

I am fastidious about taking care of cleaning my dentures and implants so would it be ok to do this? It could mean the difference between having a meaningful relationship or not with a partner.

Fixed prosthesis
by: Dr Farhan Durrani

Contact your dentist to give you a fixed prosthesis - perhaps you don't have enough bone.
Consult your implant dentist, there are fixed prosthesis over implants but bone availability is the main factor.
