dear patient. ..there should be no gap in between the crown/abutment and the gum underneath it, unless you are talking about a BRIDGE betwenn 2 implants. You might mean that there is a gap between the crown of implant and the adjacent crown where food is trapping..which that one can /should be fixed. Of course i am assuming everything is gone normally and successfully with your implant surgery, nonetheless, i would be able to help more if i can see a radiograph/xray of the site . good luck.
