For the past 8 yrs I have tabocco eating habits. 4-5 yrs ago suddenly I found a gap between lower front teeth and now the gap increased to a size of about a single tooth. I feel embarrassed when I laugh and smile.

so please provide some suggestion on dental treatment how to overcome this existing gap.

Space between teeth
by: Sharon B., RDH

Hi Om,

Your description sounds like the normal symptoms of periodontal (gum) disease. As this disease destroys the tooth and gum between and around your teeth, the spaces between them become much more evident. You most likely need to have a "deep cleaning" (aka scaling and root planing) performed as well as very rigid routine maintenance to help save your teeth. If the teeth have lost too much support and are mobile, your dentist may recommend extracting them and placing implants.

Periodontal disease is a major reason for tooth loss and it can spread tooth to tooth, you'll want to see dental care as soon as possible.
