Implant in as soon as possible

I have had braces for 2 years now and the doctor removed my second molar. I am about to get my braces off in two weeks but I don't want to have a gap in my mouth - so I want the implant in as soon as possible. is that even possible?

Space Maintainer

Hi Josselin,

Your orthodontist or dentist can place a ?space maintainer? in the area of the extraction, to hold the adjacent teeth back from collapsing or leaning into the open area. This will buy you and your implant specialist some time in having an implant successfully placed without messing up your orthodontic treatment. Be sure to have your retainer made in a way that will fit around the space maintainer, so that you can continue to wear it during the implant therapy. Your orthodontist can do this for you.

Depending on what type of implant you are having placed, the length of treatment can span out to about 6 months.
