implant, tooth #10

I had a crown on #10, but it broke off at the gum level.
Doc wants to do an implant. I lecture and do much public speaking in my work. What can I expect for down time in my work schedule? Can I be back on the lecture circuit in a week? It's a front tooth, and aside from cosmetics, my speech is affected. (I have a flipper to use when the crown comes unglued again.)
