I was told last week by a dental surgeon that I can only get a bridge on my teeth, that it is impossible for me to get a dental implant either side of my front teeth. Is that right?
Thanks

Impossible for me to get a dental implant?
Go to see dentist who specialize in dental implants. Even if u don't have ideal spacing as your XRay may indicate you will stil be able to get mini implants for sure. I would NOT go for the bridge option !!!

Hi, thanks so much for providing an x-ray along with your question.
My first question is: Do you have active gum disease? I can tell from your x-ray that you do appear to have some bone loss, which is a symptom of periodontal (gum) disease. If there is an active infection that you have not followed through with treatment on to reverse (such as a deep cleaning) then the surgeon is not going to want to place an implant in that area, because he suspects it would fail.
If however, you have a healthy mouth with no bleeding gums, I would get a second opinion at a dentist who specializes in implants. You appear to have enough space in these areas, so other than gum health or damage to the adjacent teeth I don't know why the surgeon might have said no to the implants.
