I have had 18 (yes 18) implants. These have all been root canals that have gone bad. For the most part they have given me little or no problems....except one. I had it done about 3 years ago. It is #5.
I know that there is some scar tissue there. I continue to have pain from it and every now and then get a bad taste in my mouth. I feel I have the best dentist in the world and he has taken several x-rays of it. The x-rays show that the implant is right at the sinus, but has not gone through the sinus cavity.
I have also seen one other dentist in a different state because it was bothering me and to also get a second opinion. They both feel it was build up around the implant so I had it cleaned.
I continue to feel like I am fighting infection...like cold symptoms. My body will fight it off and then a couple of weeks later I am going through it again....still continuing to have tenderness and pain in that same area (above the implant). Is it the implant causing me problems or my sinus? Should I get another opinion? I am very frustrated and I really don't know what to do.
I feel like I have spent a lot of money and I take very good care of my teeth.
