My gums are very sore

A little less than 2 weeks ago I got an implant put in on tooth #10. My gums are very sore and it seems to be especially where the non-dissolving stitches are-they come out Tuesday morning.
Is this normal?

Tissue Irritation

The rule of thumb is to allow a minimum of 2 weeks healing time for injuries, surgeries, cuts, etc.This is completely normal to have discomfort as you are still within the 2 week time frame. You may have a bone chip or something that is causing tissue irritation that will usually work itself out on it's own. Because you are seeing your dentist on Tuesday I would bring this to their attention to make sure there is not a foreign object (dental cement or something similar) wedged in an area that it's not supposed to be.
