Numbness after dental implant

I had 3 dental implants on Wed. I woke up on Thurs. and was numb. My periodontist had me come in immediately and backed up one and put a shorter one in the other. Fri. I woke up and still numb. He backed it up again. He put me on methylprednisolone for a lot of inflamation.

Today is Mon. and there is some improvement but still numb in the jaw/chin/and lower teeth. It feels like a block there. My dentist said to give it 2-3 weeks for numbness to go away.
How long do you think I should wait and what should I do?
Should I Have the implants removed? Should I go to an oral maxilofacial surgeon to repair the nerve? Can you tell by x-rays if there is nerve issues other than bruising?
