Pockets surrounding my teeth.

by MR. MITCHELL K.
(N. Haledon N.J.)

I have been going to the dentist and periodontist for many years now.
He tells me that i have pockets in my gums surrounding my teeth (size 3-5 mm).

What is the best treatment for these small pockets besides scheduled cleanings and good brushing and flossing regiment
Thank you
M.K

Apply Oral Gel

I am a periodontist too: for 3 -5 mm pockets which are persistent ,either your dentist is not educating you well after oral prohylaxis for maintainance, of hygiene
or you have localized bone loss of alveolar bone which might need surgical intervention ,i.e. open flap surgical debridment.

If all is well and this problem continues ,then apply metronidazole oral gel 2- 3 times daily on your gums, massage well for a minute, leave it - just spit the excess.
It doesn?t have bad taste and it won?t affect systemically too. Additionally - evaluate your brushing techniques!

I think this will help ,but if it still continues just get yourself evaluated for any medical or systemic problem.
Good luck Mitch
