Price Quote For A Dental Implant
by Concerned implant patient
(Dallas, Texas)
Does this price quote for a dental implant with closed sinus graft seem reasonable?
I live in the Dallas area, and my dentist provided me with the following price quote for a dental implant (lower back tooth #14):
MRI of Tooth # 14 $ 450
Extraction of Tooth # 14 $ 50
Alveoloplasty $ 75
Sockit gel $ 10
Closed Sinus Graft $ 1,800
Placement of Implant Post/Abutment $ 2,500
Implant Crown $ 1,500
TOTAL COST $ 6,385
In this regard, I have the following questions:
(1) Do you consider the $ 6,385 quote (and the component parts of the quote) to be reasonable?
(2) Is it standard procedure to do an MRI on the tooth that needs extraction and a subsequent implant? And, if so, is the $ 450 cost reasonable?
(3) Is it standard procedure to do a closed sinus graft when doing an implant? And, if so, is the $ 1,800 cost reasonable?
(4) Should an implant crown be more expensive than a standard crown, i.e., the dentist charges $ 750 for a regular crown BUT $ 1,500 for an implant crown?
We have a meeting with the dentist on Wednesday, March 10th, and want to be prepared to ask questions.
Thank you for your help.
