Teeth in a Day
by: BD

With one day implants (immediate load implants) it is now possible to walk away with a temporary crown firmly in place on the same day the pin has been implanted into your jaw. Not only has new technology reduced the time it takes to perform an implant but implant procedures can now be performed with minimal invasive surgery.

Within one month of the original surgery the permanent crown can be fixed into place and the tooth implant is complete. The success rate of one day tooth implants is similar to that of the more invasive process. The cost of one day dental implants is quite reasonable in comparison to the more traditional approach at around $1500 per tooth.

Dental Implants in a Day....

Competition among dentists has resulted in developing ways in which we can make dental implants more attractive to our patients. Dentists have come up with things such as "Teeth in a Day", "Teeth Today" and even "Teeth in an Hour".

The goal of all of these protocols is to get the patient their "Teeth" fast and efficiently. The problems with these protocols are that they are directly against the original Branemark protocols that gave us the first really successful dental implants and they bypass the basic tenants of sound implant placement and good prosthodontic judgment.

True - these procedures do work out in some cases but they always carry a higher failure rate and a greater overall expenses. They may lead to an actual time of treatment that is much longer than more conservative protocols. Over the years, I have done a number of these cases with fairly good results. I picked my patients very carefully to use only the ones who I felt would lend themselves to these techniques and have generally avoided the failures that some of my colleagues experience.

When all is said and done, I recommend to my patients to do this with the tried and true conservative method which while it takes a little longer, always results in a superior restoration and a happier patient.

Not really...

With new technology such as Cad/Cam (computer aided design/manufacture) dentist have managed to shorten down the full process involved in implantation.

Do however not be tricket, fancy names and trademarked slogans ("Teeth-In-An-Hour" (tm)) are correct, but misleading. You will get the implant, together with provisional healing abutment or crown, however you will have to return to the dentist for the FINAL abutment.

Don´t get me wrong, implantology is experiencing tremendouse growth and oppertunities, and the service is continuously growing better. However, shamefully, companies have started advertising so you believe something is better than it is, though it is not bad.

You will require a total of 4 visits MINIMUM, but only one visit with actual surgery, and after visit 3 (or more) you will leave with a provisional. Visits before this involves planning and CT scans (for Cad/Cam usage)

Hope this Helped!

Average fee for teeth in a day

The average fee range for teeth in a day is 25,000 -30,000 per arch(upper or lower- not both). If you have difficulty eating with your dentures and getting nutrition in you later years, the fees an procedures are within reason. You cannot put a price on your health.
