Titanium dental implants

I am wondering if the metal that is used to make dental implants(titanium), can cause brain cancer since it is so close?
Also I have heard that some people have the taste of metal in their mouth after the implants are placed - Are these two common concerns?

Hi Linda,

I went to my dentist and was concerned about the same thing. The Dentist has told me all is fine because it is placed in the bone not near the brain. I have not had a funny taste in my mouth either. I do know at times if you have a amalgam filling done there might be a funny taste but it wears off. So i have had no problems with my implants.
