Two front teeth are discolored

My two front teeth are discolored i have two crowns only 1 year old?

I had a car accident and my dentist placed two crowns in the front of my mouth on top.

I have noticed that around the gum line the area is black - I do not enjoy smiling anymore. I'm thinking of getting implants can the same thing happen again?????
