Cantilever

A Cantilever is a fixed bridge
Sometimes a cantilever bridge may be used for the front of the mouth because the level of stress is less.

Cantilever bridges are used when there are teeth on only one side of the open space. Bridges can reduce your risk of gum disease and help with one's speech.

A typical type of cantilever bridge is the 3-unit cantilever bridge. This type of bridge consists of two abutment crowns that are positioned side by side on the same side of the missing tooth space. You have some sensitivity for a few weeks after treatment. The advantage is that you will be able to eat the foods you enjoy.

Please remember that it is important to remain good oral hygiene with a bridge. If You decide to have the bridge placed it is best that you see your hygienist every 6 months.

Hope this helps
