X ray

My dentist told me I am a candidate for 2 dental implants, He suggested to get a panoramic X ray done as part of the treatment plan.

It happen so that when my Mom did 3 implants last year she had to do a cat scan X ray.
Any special reason why / when to prefer one on the other?
Is a cat scan better then panoramic x ray ? Any difference in price etc...

Hi Dave
For best case planing in implantation cat scan is better than panoramic X-ray.
Also in some cases you can work with X-ray and cat scan is not necessary.

Yes - Ct is always better than panoramic

Ct is always better than panoramic as it gives three dimensional look of the bone as well the density of bone ,opg give 2 dimensional view which may hamper treatment plan
